FF Division Suspended Until Further Notice - [ Posted by: bcr @ 1:12 AM ]
Yep, The time has come.

We tried and tried to keep it going but there is only so much we can do. Fellas can't play by themselves every week, can they?

It's time to close the Fortress Forever Division until further notice.

Thanks goes out to all the clans who gave it a shot.
Good luck to you in TF2.

Hmmmm... What will we do with this web space?

You will have to stay tuned to find out!

TFL Awards Prizes in TF2 Division - [ Posted by: bcr @ 6:02 PM ]
Here at TFL we would like to celebrate the first season of TF2 by offering prizes to this season’s winning clan!

The clan who ranks #1 at the end of this season, will be awarded the following gifts:

A FREE SERVER AND VENT FOR 1 YEAR & $1000 CASH!

You must be signed up in TFL’s TF2 division before matches become official on November 22, 2007.

Anyone caught cheating will be disqualified and immediately banned and their clan will no longer be eligible for the prizes. So Leaders, keep your team clean.

The season will run for the normal 16 weeks, and after all the dust settles, the #1 ranked clan will take home those wonderful prizes!
You have about a month to get your clan TF2 ready and to sign your clan up for TF2. http://tf2.tfleague.com

Clan Requirements are a 12 man roster (minimum) and a webpage with a Current Roster and Steam Id’s.

Let the games begin!

Ringers Shall be tossed into the volcano - [ Posted by: FluxCapacitor @ 7:05 PM ]
Ok folks, we allowed ringers until matches were official because we realized FF would be iffy on roster. Now I believe it has stabilized.

AS OF RIGHT NOW no ringers will be allowed except under the already made TFL rule, which is that both clan leaders need to agree. Matches with ringers that were not agreed to by both leaders will be overturned.

Happy Hunting

TFL Clan Council - [ Posted by: Gemini @ 12:38 AM ]
With the emergence of Fortress Forever and TeamFortress2 I have decided to bring back one of our original idea’s for league management – The TFL Clan Council. When TFL first started seven years ago, we introduced the idea of having the clans pick a representative that would meet once a week with league admins to discuss league rules, changes, disputes, and other topics. It gave the clans the power to make changes when needed and allowed clans to determine how the league was administered.

Because of new technology that comes with TF2 and Fortress Forever we have decided to once again resume the Council approach to running both leagues. Clan leaders are encouraged to participate in the council or choose a representative from your clan to join the council so that your clan can be empowered to make decisions on the structure of both TF2 and Fortress Forever. If you would like to be a part of #tfl-clancouncil, please contact bcr or MD44 for details and information.

TFL Fortress Forever and YOU! - [ Posted by: MD44 @ 4:12 PM ]
Almost seven and one half years ago on Saturday April 1, 2000, a radical idea for Team Fortress Classic was introduced. The Team Fortress League went live and gave the gaming community what it was yearning for. A league which offered "full contact" matches by throwing away rules which many players deemed were to restrictive and the opportunity for clans to build their TFL to best suit their gaming needs. A fresh breath of air was given to the gaming community and a new era in Team Fortress Classic was born.

Today, Team Fortress League is striving again to raise the gaming bar and give the gaming community what they are asking for. A Fortress Forever League is now being play tested with exhibition matches every Thursday night. Feed back provided by the Fortress Forever Clans will build your TFL Forever Fortress league as you wish it to be. As it was a little over seven years ago, now is a great opportunity to get involved from the ground floor; to build a stable and rock solid foundation. A foundation which you can build upon and improve upon in the years to come.

If you would like to be a part of a growing and exciting league experience, just click on the "sign-up" link and sign your Fortress Forever clan up today! You can also visit us in our irc Fortress Forever channel, #tfl-ff, and our general channel #tfleague.

Structured FF Play Test matches - [ Posted by: MD44 @ 2:43 PM ]
In order to provide a little more structured participation in our FF play test matches (aka feed back matches :) )

The idea behind these 'feed back matches' is to supply TFL with feed back concerning (but not limited to) server side issues, client side issues, class restriction suggestions, and .cfg suggestions. It is not a free opportunity for clans to go llama. TFL reserves the right to consider llama playing as a breech of our sportmanship rules. This is a great opportunity for all clans participating to help improve TFL, to help set standards of game play and rules that will ensure fair and enjoyable matches in the future. Please do not loose this chance to help your community.

By playing in TFL's 'feedback matches' your clans agrees to follow the following temporary rules:

Only leaders/admins are permitted to use MM1 during a match. Excessive MM 1 spamming may result in loss of all point scored that round. Treating
your opponent in an unsportsmanlike manner will be dealt with appropriately. It is advisable to NOT respond to clans doing so, but to play the match to completion and then dispute the round in question.

In maps where you may leave your respawn during prematch you may NOT leave your base until the end of prematch. I would advise all clans to use a prematch that would consider high connect times (maybe 4 or 5 mins) and adjust ur timelimit command accordingly. Dropping dets, spamming the enemy respawn as PM ends, caltoping their entrance etc., etc., will be grounds for forfeiting points scored during of round. Building sentry guns and dispensers during a PM are also prohibited and is a forfeitable offense. Purposefully dying at the end of prematch in order to leave an ammo pack for the future engineer is allowed.

Poor sportsmanship is defined as follows: Abusive and offensive general conduct & language during TFL-sanctioned play test matches, and Official TFL IRC channels. Those clans and individuals that choose to endeavor in unsportsman-like conduct will be subject to IMMEDIATE sanctions pending review by league officials ranging from a warning to removal from the feed back matches and possibly the future FF league. Clans and individuals removed from TFL's feed back matches or FF league will be required to resubmit their registration to the League Director for reconsideration. Admins reserve the right to determine what is and what is not offensive.

Scheduling Play Test Matches - [ Posted by: MD44 @ 2:32 PM ]
Play testing for Forever Fortress began last week and we will continue with more play testing matches this week. Due to a few link 'bugs' the schedules and results will be posted here and prolly in the FF forums for now.

Last week teams played ff_aardvark. Map for this week will be ff_well. Last week we played with no class restrictions and this week in order to provide clans with the other side of the future fatty debate we would like for clans to run a class limitation of 1 for the "big guy."
